Maree Maglio is a seasoned ceramic artist based in St Kilda, Melbourne. With over 35 years of experience in ceramics, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Ceramic Design.

Maree’s approach to mould making is highly creative, often reimagining a single mould in numerous innovative ways. A recurring theme in her work is revitalizing retro pieces with a fresh twist.

‘My art brings modern interpretations to retro designs, infusing them with cheekiness and a lively spirit. There’s a bit of naughtiness in my soul, and that’s always reflected in my work.’

‘Growing up, I was obsessed with paper dolls—dressing them up, mixing and matching outfits. I’ve carried that playfulness into my art, with each piece inviting a sense of childlike whimsy and silliness. Some works even hold a cheeky, mischievous edge. My goal is to create a space of joy, where life feels simpler and a little more fun.’

Maree’s Naughty Boy range is dedicated to her nephews Jack and James, who inspired her immeasurably and live on, forever young.
