My profound desire in my process is to open up new dialogues for the understanding of Aboriginality and to locate a contemporary consciousness for the viewer that more truthfully represents this reality than the romantic and idealised interpretations of the past. In this I draw profoundly on my Irish Indigenous heritage, where my lived experience and historical record is exhaustively mined and combined with detailed research on given subjects.

My work is complex, layered and deliberately playful, transforming history through my own creative process. The central focus is the importance of the Australian landscape as a repository or memory bank that has a remarkable wealth of Indigenous knowledge and stories associated with traditional life, colonial encounters and life today.
