Artist Statement
Seeking Wisdom, Finding Beauty, Sharing Love.
In my creative practice I explore themes of memory, temporality, permanence, and impermanence as well as the relationship of humanity to the earth.
My creativity is guided by the qualities of my materials, as well as my Humanist and Wabi-Sabi philosophies.
I am committed to using creativity to communicate the hope, beauty, and inspiration I find in the incredible variety of visual splendour offered by the natural world and my art practice is my vehicle to express my love of the Earth, my grief over the effects of climate change, and a recognition that the planet will endure beyond humanity.
I see landscape as the ideal vehicle to explore form, texture and wonder at the scale of time and how Earth stores its memory.
