My practice is a direct reflection of my environment - places I have visited or closer to home. Paintings begin with observation - often from sketches or memories of particular paths, trees, bodies of water and shifting light - but the finished work is less about documenting a location and more about translating the experience of being there. The paintings become a way of revisiting those places through color, rhythm, and gesture.
